Compress to Target Size

Upload one image, choose a target size or percentage reduction, and run a browser-side best-effort compression pass.

Accepted: PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP. Choose either a target size or a percentage reduction. Best effort in the browser: large images may be downscaled to approach the selected goal, and some files can still finish above it. Large images may fail on phones or low-memory devices.

How to use

Compress Image to Target Size reduces an image file to a specific kilobyte or megabyte target — 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, or a custom value you set. Processing runs entirely in your browser.

  1. Upload your image

Select a JPG, PNG, or WEBP image. The tool shows the current file size so you know the starting point.

  2. Set the target size

Choose a preset (100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB) or enter a custom value. You can also choose a percentage reduction instead.

  3. Compress

Click Compress. The browser iterates the JPEG quality or PNG compression to get as close to your target as possible.

  4. Download the result

Download the compressed image. The tool shows the final file size and the quality level used so you can judge whether the output meets your needs.

Note: Results are best-effort. Images that are already heavily compressed may not reach the target without visible quality loss.
